In this article we will briefly demonstrate of how valuable the Everlux App can become for safety officers, marine safety equipment providers, Fire-fighting equipment service engineers and LSA maintenance technicians as well as for surveyors from the classification societies.

Start by downloading the Everlux app for the maritime market from App marketplaces by searching for Everlux. This application is available for iOS (4.3 or higher, for iPhone, iPod touch and compatible with iPad) and Android (version 4.0.0 or higher).

During the application installation process you will be prompted to choose your market from the several available options. Make sure you choose the Maritime option and once the application is running on your mobile or tablet we advise you to go through the contents in order to become familiar with all the possibilities.

Here's a tip that will save you time: create a list with your favorite/ most used signs as this will allow you to add them to your surveys without the need of browsing through the complete catalogue every time you need a particular sign.

You can easily develop your list of favorite signs in 3 quick steps:

1. Choose the desired catalogue chapter.

2. Select the sign and with your finger tip slide it to your right hand side. A white star on maroon background will show on your screen.

3. Touch that white star and the sign bar will now show a white star on a triangular blue blackground to the right. This means that this item code is now featured in your favorite sign list.

Once on-board, create your survey by touching the list icon on the top left side immediately followed by selecting the Surveys option in your left side menu of the subsequent screen.

This will bring you to the Surveys page where you can add a survey by touching the "+” sign in the left bottom side of your application. This will bring you to a new screen where you can name this particular survey and identify the vessel as well as the client to whom you are performing this work. Press the Done button on the bottom right side and the application will bring you back to the Surveys page where your new survey will be displayed.

From this screen, select the survey you have just created and you will be prompt to identify the zone or zones of the vessel of where the survey will be done. You can name those zones and even take a picture in order to help you identifying each surveyed area.

By this stage you are ready to add the necessary signs for each zone and to start creating your BOQ. You can choose to insert signs from the complete catalogue or directly from your list of favorite signs. Every time you add a sign to your survey you can choose the size, the material and the quantity of that sign.

You can repeat this process with all the necessary signs and once you are done you will be able to send the survey by e-mail to your desktop or to Everlux in order to get a quote for the required safety signs.
